Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long is the photo session/and where does it take place?

A; A typical session lasts 20 to 30 minutes, and is done in the comfort of your room.

Q: When will my photo session take place?

A: We typically photograph babies on their first full day at the hospital. It is also possible for your shoot to take place on the day of discharge, in the morning.

Q: My husband/siblings won’t return to the hospital until late in the day. Can the session be done then?

A: We are only at the hospital in the morning, and always encourage husbands and siblings to participate if they are available at the time of the shoot.  We do our best to accommodate you as much as our schedule permits.

Q: Should we bring a special swaddle?

A: We absolutely encourage you to bring a favorite swaddler, bows, hats from home to use in the shoot. A beautiful swaddler can add texture, color and memories to your newborn’s photos. We photograph your baby in their diaper, wrapped in a swaddler you provide, or we can use a white blanket (that we provide).  Both are beautiful, so if you forget a swaddler, don’t worry, we can use the white blanket. We don’t use outfits, because they tend to bunch up while your baby is posed in different positions.

Q: How can I prepare for the shoot?

A: Have baby fed as well as possible before the shoot and bathed. You don’t need to do much, other than sit back and relax. We are happy to take pictures with mom/dad and baby, so if you’d like to freshen up a bit ahead of time, then you’ll be ready for your time in front of the camera.

Q: How do we view our images from the session?

A: You will be emailed a link to a password-protected gallery within 5 days from your session. You are able to view the images, and order directly online. Prints and Digital images are available. You are welcome to share your password with family and friends, if you’d like them to view your gallery. Your gallery is available for 3 weeks.
